Moving Through Life
We interviewed two people who (I didn't get there names) one was a boy one a girl and they were a little older and really nice. They were going to go see the girls mother, and we talked for about half of the ride. They asked me and my partner what we wanted to do when we grow up, and they said to do what you love. The girl said that she lived in Tokyo for a year, witch I thought was very interesting. They also gave us the advice that you should vote when you are 18 to see the change happen that you want in the world. Overall these people were very nice, and I enjoyed talking to them. They said that they use the Sprinter a lot and are familiar with movement in that way, and they were bot familiar with growing up and moving houses.
I thought that the exhibition was interesting. They were like social experiments with art based off of them, and if I do an experiment like these people did, I wouldn't use art to express it. Nevertheless, it was really interesting to see what these people did and the art that they created to go along with it. The most interesting was the person who wore the same immigrant's shirt for a year. I found it an interesting experiment and by the end of it the shirt was horribly ripped and trashed but she still wore it. The most confusing was this one that looked like someone just scribbled black marker on a canvas. I didn't read about this art and I should of because it probably would have made it more clear to me what it was all about. If I had to make an installation about one of the strangers I interviewed I would probably try and base it off the trip to Tokyo that one of the people that I talked to went on. She stayed there for a year. That sounds really interesting and I would want to what is different and how hard it was to get used to life there. I would hear about her experiences and create art about them.
